What to Expect with a Mauzy Installation

When you’re considering home renovations, you might be apprehensive and have a preconceived mindset of inviting contractors into your home. Will they take care of my home? Are they going to leave a mess? How will they do with my pets? What do I need to do to prepare the space for them? Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered. Treating your home with utmost respect, here’s some insight on what you can expect with a Mauzy installation!

Step 1: Staging Our Workspace

Prior to starting every install, we will walk the jobsite with you and confirm the details of the project. Our install crew will confirm the equipment being installed, what areas of the property we will be working, and go over any questions you may have before starting the work. Once the details are confirmed, it’s time to stage the workspace!

At Mauzy, we respect your home and will treat it like it’s our own. This means laying down proper precautions for safety and cleanliness. We will lay down drop cloths to protect your floors. In addition, our install crew will wear shoe covers to help prevent any dirt from coming into your home. We will remove any valuables from traffic areas to protect your belongings. As we prep the workspace, we make sure to keep a 5 ft. safety area around the space, free of any children and pets. As dog lovers ourselves, we will also make sure to keep your doors and gates closed at all times so Fido can’t escape.

Depending on the project, we may need to shut off utility or gas lines. We will identify with you where these key shut off points are. Next, it’s time to bring in our tools and equipment!

Step 2: Removal of Old Equipment

Before we disconnect and remove any old equipment we’re replacing, we will shut off the power to the equipment in your breaker panel and turn the gas off at the equipment or meter. We’ll then disconnect your gas, electrical, ducting and venting from existing equipment. Once everything is shut off and disconnected, we can remove the old equipment and any debris from the workspace.

Step 3: Installation

We’re finally ready for the fun part! During installation, if there are any holes that need to be cut for the equipment, we make sure our cuts are clean, tidy and accurate for optimum finished appearance and seal. At Mauzy, we take pride in our work and never take short cuts. This means you’ll have a clean and neat looking install.

Once all equipment is in place, we will reconnect necessary gas lines, test the gas joints for leakage, and reconnect electrical connections.

Step 4: Starting Up the Equipment

Once all the equipment is in place, it’s time to turn on the utility and gas lines. We will fire up the equipment for a minimum of 10 minutes to ensure everything is working properly. This also includes testing the thermostat on all the different functions available.

The Mauzy install crew will do a final walkthrough of the jobsite to ensure you are completely satisfied with the work. We will also show you how to operate your new equipment, help you program your thermostat to your preferred settings, and provide some tips and tricks on how to maintain your new system.

Step 5: Cleaning Up the Workspace

A common remark we hear from our customers is “You left the house cleaner than when you arrived!” That’s because we make sure to sweep and wipe down all work areas. We’ll remove any debris from the jobsite and vacuum any particles that may have been left behind. Any valuable belongings we removed from the traffic areas will be moved back in its place. It’s as if we were never there! Except, now you have the perfect indoor temperature.

Post Install: Full Service Follow Through
